Go, Tell It On The Mountain,
Over the hills and everywhere;
Go, Tell It On The Mountain
That Jesus Christ is born.
One of the things that is for certain: Christianity is not a “secret society”. We do not hide what we believe. We do not tell a limited number of people who have “earned” our trust. No. We tell what we believe to the whole world.
Why do we? Quite simply, because Jesus instructed us to do so. “Go into the whole world and tell the Good News.” We take the words — and challenges — of the Lord very seriously. That is one of the reasons why we have been proclaiming the great joy of Christ’s birth over the past couple of weeks.
Christmas is not over. The Christmas season is still upon us. And even when it is complete, it will not be over. It will not be over because we are called to proclaim the truth of the Lord’s birth, as well as His passion, death, and resurrection, to as many people as we can as often as we can.
Christians cannot be shy about the faith. They need to be bold in proclaiming the Good News. Of course, that does not mean that we need to be obnoxiously in the face of others. However, we need to let others know the importance of our beliefs, beliefs that are designed to draw us closer to God each day and, therefore, closer to eternity.
Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere; go, tell It on the mountain, that Jesus Christ is born!
FAITH ACTION: Be unafraid in telling the story of Christ’s birth today — whenever and wherever you are.
