Choose Your Friends Wisely
“I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It’s not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people that make you feel all alone.” ~ Robin Williams
It is something that we heard at a very young age. Our parents were the ones who first said the words and then our teachers in our early years echoed the same words: choose your friends wisely. Parents and teachers would tell us that the choice of friends was one of the most important things we could do in life because our friends influenced so much of our lives.
If we chose friends who were in constant trouble, it would not be long before we were in trouble with them as well. If, on the other hand, we chose friends who were good people, they would help to keep us on the straight and narrow.
Keeping in mind that our best friend is Jesus, we need to make sure that we choose friends that will not steer us away from Him but, rather, will help us to stay close to Him. That old admonition cannot be said often enough: choose your friends wisely.
FAITH ACTION: Take time to thank God for the good friends that you have. Thank your friends, as well.
