Do Or Get Out Of The Way

“The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.”  ~ Unknown

There are many people who say that we are our own worst enemy and they are all correct.  We are our own worst enemy.  People could tell us that we are worthless, that we cannot accomplish anything, or that we will never make it.  If they say those things, we might become angry or sad but, more often than not, we also say, “Oh, yeah?” and then set out to prove them wrong.

BUT.  If we tell ourselves those same things, we can become incredibly depressed and frozen in place.  We will not be able to do anything because we have convinced ourselves that we are incapable.  The same thing happens in our spiritual lives.

The unknown author of today’s quote sums it up perfectly, though.  Get out of the way of the person who believes in himself or herself because, by God, they are going to get it done.  And, come to think of it, if they can do it, so can we.

The impossible is generally an illusion, a belief that we set against ourselves.  The impossible is not always impossible or even improbable.  It is only called that because others have decided that they cannot accomplish it or will not even try.

God gave us grace, an overabundance of grace, so that we can set out to do the impossible.  Nothing is impossible for God and if we ask Him for His help, nothing will be impossible for us as well.  Don’t let anyone, or any power (the enemy), convince you that something cannot be done.  Instead, listen to that small, gentle voice whispering to you, “You want this?  You got it.  I’ll help you.”

Listen to that voice.  Then, do it.

FAITH ACTION:  Don’t worry about making attempts.  Ask the Lord for guidance and help and then give it a try.
