The Lord heard my cry.
He drew me out of the pit of destruction,
out of the mud of the swamp;
he set my feet upon a crag;
he made firm my steps. (Ps 40:3)
Love, love, love.
We always talks about how much God loves us.
When we do, we usually talk about how He pours His grace upon us or how He gave us His only Son to deliver us from sin and death. Those are pretty powerful examples of love.
However, God does so much for us.
One of the things that He does is lift us out of trouble — time and time again — when we find ourselves in distress and when we call upon Him.
The problem is that people often do not call upon the Lord.
I think it is because we are told, from the very beginning of our lives, that we need to be self-sufficient. If we see something, we need to go for it. If we get in trouble, we need to get ourselves out of it.
With that kind of mindset, we often forget and/or fail to turn to the Lord.
But, God is there. He hears us and He helps us.
FAITH ACTION: Do not be afraid to pour your troubles out to the Lord. He will hear you.
