Children were brought to Jesus
that he might lay his hands on them and pray.
The disciples rebuked them, but Jesus said,
“Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them;
for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
After he placed his hands on them, he went away. (Mt 19:13-15)
One of the most beautiful things about Jesus is that He never prevented anyone from approaching Him. He loved everyone and desired everyone to come to Him.
Leper? No problem.
Possessed? Be free.
Lame? Walk.
Blind? Open your eyes and see.
Mute? Speak.
He allowed everyone to come to Him.
And He helped all who came to Him in faith.
In the Gospel, Jesus took exception to His disciples’ attempts to keep children away from Him. They may have had good intentions. They may have been doing all that they could to allow the Lord some rest.
However, Jesus wanted anyone who approached Him to be allowed to do so.
He still wants that today.
FAITH ACTION: Jesus is waiting for you. Come to Him in prayer today.
