As a body is one though it has many parts,
and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body,
so also Christ. (1 Cor 12:12)
The reading today points to a true mystery: Christ has no body but ours. We are the body of Christ in this world of ours and we are the ones that need to do our job so that the mission of Christ may continue.
If any part of the body fails to work, the body is incomplete.
God has gifted us, graced us, loved us. God want us to take the message of His Son into our world.
FAITH ACTION: In silent prayer today, consider the words of St. Teresa of Avila
Christ Has No Body
Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
