Enter through the narrow gate;
for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction,
and those who enter through it are many.
How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life.
And those who find it are few. (Mt 7:13)
I have met many people, throughout my life, who think that they “have it made”. They have become deluded in thinking that they have nothing to worry about in regard to their spiritual lives.
It is so easy to lose the way.
There are many “directionally challenged” people out on the roads.
Oftentimes, they believe that they are on the correct road only to find out, sometimes hours later, that they missed a crucial turn a state or two back.
It is that way in our spiritual lives as well.
Some people have become lax in monitoring their spiritual journey and think that they are on the right path.
Circumstances often prove to them that they, indeed, were not.
The road to God is narrow and fraught with peril. That is why we need to concentrate on it, lest we lose our way.
FAITH ACTION: In silence, ask the Lord to show you whether or not you are on the right road. Have the humility and courage to listen to His answer.
