The Lord God called to Adam and asked him, “Where are you?”
He answered, “I heard you in the garden;
but I was afraid, because I was naked,
so I hid myself.” (Gn 3:9-10)
I think we all learned at a very early age that hiding was not the solution to any problem. If we did something wrong, we needed to face up to it. The consequence might not have been pretty and it might have hurt when we got walloped; however, the punishment was usually going to be harder if we hid from our parents and it took them a while to find us.
Whatever possessed us to think that we could hide from them anyway? Come to think of it, whatever possessed Adam to think that he could hide from God?
God sees all. God knows all. God is aware of everything that happens in the world. He may not be pleased with our choices or actions at times; but, God loves us completely and will do anything to help us.
We just need to be open to Him and His love.
FAITH ACTION: The Lord sees all our defects and foibles. Ask God to heal us of our hurt and fear.
