When God saw by their actions how they turned from their evil way,
he repented of the evil that he had threatened to do to them;
he did not carry it out. (Jon 3:10)
I like choice.
I like choosing between cuts of steak — I like mine so rare a good vet can cure it in ten minutes.
I like choosing between vacation venues — I’ll take Disney World in a heartbeat.
I like choosing clothes — I buy the baggy stuff to feel comfortable.
Choice is a part of our lives.
We generally like the ability to make choices.
There are times, however, when I wish that there were no such thing as choice.
That would generally be in the spiritual realm.
I wish that God would take choice away from us and make us do what we need so that we can get to heaven.
No muss, no fuss.
It’s not that way, however.
Each day of our lives, we are confronted with choice.
Thank God that we have the opportunity to choose to repent. That’s the only way that we will be able to save ourselves!
FAITH ACTION: God desires to see a change in our lives. Repentance demands action.
