Jesus is always able
to save those who
approach God through him,
since he lives forever
to make intercession for them. (Heb 7:25)
Do you need help? Ask Jesus.
Do you know someone else who needs help? Pray to Jesus for them.
Do you know of situations that need to be made right? Give them to Jesus.
Do I need to give other examples? Remember, Jesus is the answer!
The Letter to the Hebrews reminds us of that when it tells us that Jesus “lives forever to make intercession” for us. That has got to be a comforting thought.
There are times that we fail to turn to the Lord when we are in need. I believe that is because we have been disappointed too many times in our lives by others. We have asked other people for all sorts of things — comfort, aid, instruction, favors, et cetera — only to find that what we needed was not forthcoming.
As things like that happen to us here on earth, we often apply those “lessons” to God. If people disappoint us, we quit asking for aid. If we do not ask others for aid because we do not want to be disappointed, the next logical step is to not ask the Lord for aid because we do not want Him to disappoint us.
However, Jesus is the polar opposite of those who disappoint us here in this world. For all who hate us, Jesus is full of love. For those who do not hear us, Jesus always listens. For those who harm us, Jesus is always helping us. For those who would lead us astray, Jesus will lead us home.
Jesus has the capability and the desire to come to our aid. Trust in him. You can depend upon Him.
FAITH ACTION: In prayer today, pour yourself out to the Lord who will take your intercessions to heart.
