Hearing of your faith in the Lord Jesus
and of your love for all the holy ones,
I do not cease giving thanks for you,
remembering you in my prayers,
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation
resulting in knowledge of him. (Eph 1:15-17)
Paul, in his letter to the Church in Ephesus, is giving the people an “attaboy”. He is letting them know that he is hearing good things about them and that he is thankful for that.
Thankfulness means all the difference in the world.
We do lots of things for lots of people. Every so often, someone takes the time to show their appreciation.
What does that do for us?
It makes us want to do more or want to do even better, does it not?
Paul let the community know that he was thankful for them and also wanted them to know that he was praying for them, that their good works may increase.
FAITH ACTION: When was the last time you told someone that you were truly thankful for what they had done for you? Today might be the day to do so.
