Pick Up The Baton

“Each generation has an obligation to pick up the baton.” ~ Valerie Jarrett

I have been faithful to my promise to write a meditation each day. I hope that they have been of help to you in your Christian living. Some have been easy to write, others have been more difficult. Some have been written more for others, some seemed to point to my own life when I would read what I had written.

While I perk thoughts and reflections in my head constantly, there comes a point when I have to take the time to write them down. Each reflection takes me anywhere from fifteen minutes to a half hour to write. That might not seem like a lot of time but, when I have many other responsibilities, there are times that I have found it difficult to get one written. A few were posted right at 6:00 a.m., the “deadline” moment.

I share this with you for a particular reason. Yesterday afternoon, I was elected by the College of Consultors of the Diocese of Gary to be the Diocesan Administrator. An administrator is a person who has been elected to oversee the running of a diocese until a new bishop is appointed by Rome.

The extra duties that I will have to take will eat into my time more than ever. I am going to do my best to write a Daily Reflection. However, if there is not one forthcoming on any particular day, please know that it was simply because I did not have enough time to write one.

Kindly keep me in your prayers these next several months and, even more so, pray that the Diocese of Gary will soon be provided with another bishop.
