Jesus said to his disciples:
“The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field,
which a person finds and hides again,
and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant
searching for fine pearls.
When he finds a pearl of great price,
he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.” (Mt 13:44-46)
We say that we value the Lord, that we value a relationship with Him.
But, do we?
If people spent time examining our words and actions, what would they see?
Would they see that we placed other things or other people higher than God?
Would we be able to admit that?
God is so important. We need Him for life. We depend upon Him for life eternal. Yet, there are many times that we stray from Him and make almost anything else more important than Him.
Thank God that He loves us incredibly and is willing to forgive us our straying.
Let’s try not to stray today.
FAITH ACTION: Is God the most important part of your life? If He is not, what have you allowed to replace Him?
