He pardons all your iniquities,
he heals all your ills.
He redeems your life from destruction,
he crowns you with kindness and compassion. (Ps 103:3-4)
We cannot always find forgiveness. Sadly, in this world of ours, many people withhold forgiveness. They will not forgive us when we ask, beg, or plead with them. They want, instead, it seems, to “hold it against us”.
God, on the other hand, is not like that at all.
God is a loving God rich in kindness and compassion.
If we come to Him with a contrite and humbled spirit, God will hear our cries for pardon and He will forgive us.
So that we can be forgiven, let us remember to forgive this day. As easily and completely as God forgives, we should forgive.
FAITH ACTION: Make a thorough examination of conscience and, if you find it necessary, make it a point to go to confession today. Confessions at St. Thomas More are Saturdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
