A woman suffering hemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him
and touched the tassel on his cloak.
She said to herself, “If only I can touch his cloak, I shall be cured.”
Jesus turned around and saw her, and said,
“Courage, daughter! Your faith has saved you.”
And from that hour the woman was cured. (Mt 9:20-22)
Jesus’ love is remarkable.
Today’s Gospel story is actually two parts.
The first is about an official who came forward stating that his daughter had just died. Jesus said that He would go to the man’s house. On the way, He meets the woman who came up to Him and touched His cloak.
Jesus commended her for her faith and healed her.
He then continued to the official’s house where he put the mourners out, took the girl’s hand, and bid her to rise. She came back to life, to the amazement of all present.
God’s love is plentiful. His healing flows through His Son.
There are many things that we need and we are often too frightened to ask the Lord.
Today, we are reminded that Jesus commends the faith of those who trust in Him.
FAITH ACTION: Is there something you need to bring to the Lord for healing? Do not be afraid. Let Him know what you need.
