I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God;
incline your ear to me; hear my word. (Ps 17:6)
We learn, from a very early age, who to trust and who not to trust.
Some of us have favorite aunts or uncles, grandparents, or other relatives whom we know will provide great entertainment. However, we know that we cannot trust them because they are not good at keeping their word, or keeping secrets, or keeping all the many things we ask people to keep whom we trust.
Knowing that there are people in life whom we can trust and other people in our life whom we cannot trust makes for a very frustrating time. We test people in order to determine whether or not we are going to place our trust in them.
We do not have to worry about that with God.
We do not have to test Him. We do not need to have Him prove Himself. He has done that a long time ago on the cross.
The psalmist, in all faith, confidence, and trust simply states, “I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God.” He knows that God is there. He knows that God is listening. He knows that God will answer Him.
Because there are people in our lives whom we do not trust, there are times that we fail to trust our God.
But God is, indeed, completely trustworthy.
FAITH ACTION: Have you been afraid to trust God with something? Hand it over to Him today and have confidence that He will hear you.
