When Jesus returned to Capernaum after some days,
it became known that he was at home.
Many gathered together so that there was no longer room for them,
not even around the door,
and he preached the word to them. (Mk 2:1-2)
Jesus certainly drew the crowds to Him.
That was because Jesus was a man of action, a man of faith, a man of deep love. His actions were consistent with His words and His words were all about freedom and blessings from God.
So many times in life, we meet people whose lives are not consistent with their words. They may speak about love and mercy and forgiveness, about peace and love and understanding, however, they do not live any of those virtues. You never see a lot of people flocking to them.
We are challenged to embrace the Good News of Jesus and then to go one step farther: to live the Good News in our daily lives. Then, by word and deed, we can continue to bring God’s Kingdom into our world.
I may be difficult; but if we try, God will be with us each step of the way.
FAITH ACTION: Pray for those who speak the Word of God that they may have the energy to do so when they feel overwhelmed by those who come to them.
