Jesus answered them, “Can the wedding guests mourn
as long as the bridegroom is with them?
The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them,
and then they will fast.” (Mt 9:15)
Are you mourning or celebrating?
I guess the answer to that question would depend upon whether or not you are with the Lord.
The Lord is always with us. He has promised that He would never leave us. However, there are many times that we leave the Lord. We turn our attention to other things, to other people, to other ideas. When we do so, we turn away from God.
We have no reason to mourn. Our lives should be filled with triumph. They should be filled with celebration. They should be filled with joy.
Left to our own doing, we often turn that triumph, that celebration, those joys to tears.
Remember, the Lord is with you today. He was with you yesterday. He will be with you tomorrow.
FAITH ACTION: Reflect upon the past couple of days and identify for yourself how the Lord has been with you. Ask Him to remain with you today. Have confidence that He will be with you tomorrow. Rejoice in His love.
