No Time Like The Present

“Begin now to be what you will be hereafter.”  ~ St. Jerome

We often gravitate to doing the same things in our lives.  They may not be the best way to do something.  There may be another way or a better way to accomplish what we are doing.  However, we do things the same way because that way is predictable.  We’ve done it before. We know what to expect.  We don’t have to worry about surprises.

What would have happened if God let each day unravel like the one before it and never sent His Son?  What would have happened if Jesus would have let the day go and not allowed Himself to be arrested or crucified?  What would our lives be like if things remain the same?

The simple fact of the matter is that we must move on.  We are challenged to grow and to innovate.  We are enticed by newness because we realize that when we participate in something new we have the opportunity to see life in a whole new way and to appreciate everything around us through a different prism.

There is no reason to wait or to remain mired in the past.  There is no reason not to look ahead and to do and be all that God has called us to become.  All it takes is our decision and our willingness to move.

Do not be afraid to view the world differently today.  Do not be afraid to strike out in a new direction.  Do not be afraid to take on a challenging task.  Those things are there to take us to new heights.  We will never attain those heights, though, if we do not begin.  There’s no time like the present to get a move on.

FAITH ACTION:  If might be learning a new way to pray, it might be joining a new ministry.  Whatever it is, choose to do something new and different in the practice of your faith today.
