We May Not Understand; But, He Has A Plan

13 Jul

Just as from the heavens
the rain and snow come down
and do not return there
till they have watered the earth,
making it fertile and fruitful,
giving seed to the one who sows
and bread to the one who eats,
so shall my word be
that goes forth from my mouth;
my word shall not return to me void,
but shall do my will,
achieving the end for which I sent it.  (Is 55:10-11)

If you are anything like me, the last thing you want to talk about is the weather!

We have had a record year with weather thus far in 2014.  We have had record snows, record cold, record heat, record floods, record drought, record, record, record.

We have asked ourselves, probably many times now, “What in the blue blazes is going on?!”

We hear the forecast for later this week about a “polar vortex” coming in and cooling things down significantly.

Do you know the answers?  Do you know why it’s happening?  Do you know what the next day, week, month, or year will bring?

Thankfully, none of us need to know.

We can take consolation from the prophet Isaiah that the Lord has a plan.  Nothing issues from God without some kind of plan.  Everything, one day, will make sense to us.

What we need to do is quit worrying about the “little stuff” and focus on the big picture: eternity with God.

Hey, I know it’s easier said than done.  I fret about things like the weather all the time.  I fret about a lot more than the weather, as a matter of fact.

However, if I would fret less, I would be more at peace.

If you fret less, you, too, would be more at peace.

Be at peace today!

FAITH ACTION:  In prayer today, turn all your anxieties over to the Lord.  Just as He has a plan for all of His creation, He most certainly has a plan for you.  Count on that.
