You CAN Make A Difference

“No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.”
~ Robin Williams

From the dictionary:  non-conformist – a person whose behavior or views do not conform to prevailing ideas or practices.  I would posit that Robin Williams’ picture should be placed in dictionaries next to “non-conformist” because I think, in many ways, he was the supreme example of non-conformity.

It seemed that, in whatever he was involved, there were two ways to do things: the way the director wanted and the way he was going to do it.  He ended up, in many films, being given carte blanche because people realized that there was no reigning him in.  When left to his own devices, he would always excel.

He truly embodied today’s quote.  He never really let people tell him what to do.  Instead, he contributed his unique talent to any situation and improved it, oftentimes changing the way things would be done in the future.  He appeared confident in himself and unafraid to lay it all on the line.

What a difference we could make if we went into our world filled with confidence in the Lord and in the many gifts that He has given to us.  Ignoring what the world tells us to do, we would live in the righteousness of God and, with the words and ideas of Jesus, we would be able to change the world.

They say, many times, that we have two choices: to be a part of the problem or to be a part of the solution.  We are a part of the problem when we accept the directives of the world.  Those directives are designed to keep us away from God.  We are a part of the solution when we step out in faith, trusting that God will give us the words to speak and the courage to do.

What about it?  Are you going to be a part of the problem or a part of the solution today?

FAITH ACTION:  Go out in confidence today sharing the words and ideas of the faith and inviting those you encounter to consider new possibilities.
