What Will You Say For Yourself?

17 Jan

The word of God is living and effective,
sharper than any two-edged sword,
penetrating even between soul and spirit,
joints and marrow,
and able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart.
No creature is concealed from him,
but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him
to whom we must render an account.  (Heb 4:12-13)

The Word of God — Jesus Christ — is going to be our judge.  We will not be able to hide under His scrutiny.  He knows us, inside and out, through and through, and will judge justly.

Which begs the question:  Are we ready?

What kind of account will we make for ourselves?  Did we do what the Lord asked of us?  Did we avoid the things that could harm us?  Did we live the way we should?

These are incredibly huge questions.

The answers have dire consequences:  eternity.

Do you want to live forever with the Lord or exist forever in the eternal death of sin?  The choice is yours.

FAITH ACTION:  Ask the Lord to reveal to you the things in your life that still need to change so that, ultimately, you may render a good account of yourself to God.
