Victory Was Never Easier

10 Jan

Who indeed is the victor over the world
but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?  (1 Jn 5:5)

Competition is in our blood.  It’s in our genes.  It’s a part of our make up.

And we do not just enjoy competing for the sake of competition.

We enjoy competing so that we can win!

Winning is everything.  Losers will never get anywhere.  Winners will have their pick of whatever they want.

That is what the world tells us in oh so many ways and that is what we internalize from the time we are very young and begin interacting with our world.

The only victory that truly matters, however, is the victory over sin and death.  Jesus won that victory for us when He rose from the dead on Easter morn.

We are victors if we believe in the Lord.

If we do not, we lose out.  Big time.  And forever.

FAITH ACTION:  Make an act of faith in your prayer today.

O my God, I firmly believe that you are
one God in three divine persons,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe that your divine Son became man
and died for our sins, and that he will come
to judge the living and the dead.

I believe these and all the truths which the
Holy Catholic Church teaches, because in
revealing them you can neither deceive nor be
deceived.
