Sing His Praises

7 May

Shout joyfully to God, all the earth,
sing praise to the glory of his name;
proclaim his glorious praise.
Say to God, “How tremendous are your deeds!”  (Ps 66:1-3a)

I have a couple of friends who are list people.  No matter where they go, no matter what they do, they have a pad of paper and a pen in order to make the appropriate “to do” list.  Their lists are always very complete.

To a certain extent, we are all list people.  We remember the things that others have done for us.  We remember the things that others have not done for us.  We remember the things that others have done to us.  We remember.

Our memories, then, color our relating to others.  If they have been good to us, we are good to them.  If they have not been good to us, we tend to ignore them.

God has done nothing but good for us.  Always.

He has blessed us abundantly from the very moment that He formed us in our mothers’ wombs.

God not only has done nothing but good for us, God will always do nothing but good for us.  He does not do anything that could harm us.  He loves us too much for that.  He will always stand by our side.  He will always be there for us in our times of need.

We can always count on that.

I cannot say this enough:  We can always count on Him.

Always.

FAITH ACTION:  While you’re in prayer alone with the Lord today, make a list (either on paper or a mental list) of all the things that God has done for you.  Give Him joyful praise for His marvelous love for you.
