Sincerity

Jesus said to his disciples:
“In praying, do not babble like the pagans,
who think that they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them.
Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”    (Mt 6:7-8)

We’ve all been there.

We’ve seen — or perhaps have had happen to us — someone go to ask a parent, teacher, friend or other person for something.  The person being asked knew what the person wanted and, many times, would string them along, making the asking rather painful.  Or, the person who needed something would have to ask over and over again, getting louder and using even more reasons why something was needed.

Yeah.  We’ve seen that.

We may have even done that to others.

God does not do that to us.

God knows what we want.  He doesn’t want us to feel as if we have to prove our point or bug Him until He finally gives in.

God is a loving God who is ready to provide.

Instead of thinking that we have to bug Him or somehow persuade Him, Jesus wants us to come to Him in love and simply visit with Him.  Renew your friendship with the Lord this day.

FAITH ACTION:  Make a good time to pray today.  Sit with the Lord and do your best to have a conversation with Him.
