Rejoice!

27 Dec

Light dawns for the just;
and gladness, for the upright of heart.
Be glad in the LORD, you just,
and give thanks to his holy name.  (Ps 97:11-12)

We continue our joy in celebrating Christmas for the third day of the Octave of Christmas.

Light has dawned for the just:  Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the light of the world.  He is all that we need.

Why, then, do we look toward other people or other experiences when we have all that we need in the Lord?

Our weak human nature is tainted by sin.

Sin keeps us looking in other directions.

Jesus can help us if we allow Him.

We not only celebrate the birth of a child at Christmas, we remember that child — grown up — will come again in glory.  He has defeated sin and death and will deliver each and every one of us if we allow Him.

Let Him be your guide this day.

FAITH ACTION:  As Christ is our light, be light for someone in need today either by word or by example.
