To See The Face Of God

12 Feb

“To love another person is to see the face of God.”  ~ Victor Hugo, Les Miserables

Mother Teresa knew so well how she could see the face of God.  She mentioned often that she saw the face of Jesus in the face of each sick and dying person she helped. She asked the whole world to look for Jesus’ face there as well.  When we come to understand that it is in loving another person that we have the opportunity to know and love God, we will grow spiritually by leaps and bounds.

There are those who are in jeopardy of never seeing the face of God because they do not love.  They hold grudges, they bear ill will, and they only do for themselves.  These are the kinds of people who live miserable lives because there is no love in themselves.  If they cannot love others, they cannot love themselves.  If they cannot love themselves, they cannot possibly see what God sees in them.  That has got to be a miserable condition in which to live.

God made us for much more than that.  God made us to be happy and fulfilled.  God made us to love and to be loved.  God made us to attain eternal life with Him at the end of our days.  Do not be afraid to love.  It is in doing so that you will be able to connect not only to another person but to God Himself.

FAITH ACTION:  Pray for those who have difficulty loving themselves or others, that they may allow God to touch their hearts this day.
