That is the mantle that we appear to wrap around ourselves each and every day.
Complexity.
If there is an easy way and a hard way to do something, it seems as if we find the hard way.
Complexity.
Our lives are a bundle of rules and regulations, of requirements and obligations. We try to dig our way through them, layer by layer, and often tire at the prospect of even more to go through.
The Lord has told us quite often that life does not have to be so complex. It is we who make it so. Jesus always boiled things down to their simple form. One of those teachings is given to us in the Gospel today, the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
There is nothing complex about that at all.
It is quite simple.
So, why do we make it so difficult?
