We face a lot of things in our lives, some of them we deal with well, others not so well. Fear is one of the things that we have a tough time facing. Fear can make us avoid things that we should do. Fear can change our personalities. Fear can immobilize us.
I oftentimes imagine God looking at us and slowly shaking His head. I imagine Him muttering, “How many times do I need to say ‘Fear Not?'” After all, He sent His only Son to destroy death and restore life so that we would no longer have to fear. However, fear has a strong grip on many people.
Fear, indeed, is one of the most employed tools in the arsenal of the devil. He introduces fears to us and then tells us that we have no hope against them. Because of that, we often cower in our fear and do not attempt to get away from it. We become helpless, hopeless people. In doing so, the devil has an easier chance of snatching us away from God. If you want to fear anything, fear that scenario!
We do not have to fear about that if we keep in mind that God is at our side. Five simple words. Say them over and over again: God. Is. At. My. Side. Say them with conviction. Say them with every ounce of your being. Because God IS at your side. He is there to lead you and guide you as well as to walk next to you, hand in hand with you. With that kind of reinforcement, there is no reason to fear.
Without needing to fear, there is just one thing to do. Embrace every day, every moment, of your life with incredible confidence and joy, knowing that God is at your side.
