Go And Tell

22 Apr

“Go to my brothers and tell them,
‘I am going to my Father and your Father,
to my God and your God.'”  (Jn 20:17b)

Sometimes the living is easy and the telling is hard.

Think about it.

We claim to be Christian.

We are bound by a list of obligations that we need to do as believers.

Many of those obligations involve doing something.  They are relatively easy, more or less, to accomplish.

One of the duties, however, is to “tell the Good News”.

That becomes the problem for many people.

After all, to tell the Good News means putting oneself “front and center”.  There is no easy way to hide when the eyes of all are looking to us as we speak about our God.

The eyes looking at us may not be friendly, either.

We live in a world that is immersed in sin.  The people who are also immersed in the values of this world are not very welcoming of the message of Christ because that message implies change.  It challenges them to change their lives radically.  They do not want to do that.  Therefore, they do not want to hear the message.

That does not mean, however, that we, the messengers, should be quiet.

No.  Our responsibility remains to tell all the Good News of Jesus Christ.

FAITH ACTION:  What will you do to tell the Good News today?
