Glorious!

11 Feb

How manifold are your works, O Lord!
In wisdom you have wrought them all—
the earth is full of your creatures;
Bless the Lord, O my soul! Alleluia.  (Ps 104:24,35c)

Today’s readings remind us of how glorious we are in the eyes of God.

After all, He is the one who created everything out of nothing.  He created the earth from a formless void, populated it, and called it good.

Even when His people would turn their backs on Him, He continued to look on us with joy and promised to send a deliverer.

When His Son came among us, He looked upon us with love, teaching us, healing us, guiding us.

Today’s Gospel reminds us that wherever Jesus went, healing followed in His steps.

God loves us.

We should glory in that and love one another in thankful response to His love.

FAITH ACTION:  Call to mind the people in your life whom you love.  Consider why they are so glorious in your sight.  Pray for each of them by name, asking God to bless them with His love.

REMINDER:  Wednesday is Ash Wednesday
and the beginning of the season of Lent.
It is a day of Fast and Abstinence.
