For the wicked man glories in his greed,
and the covetous blasphemes, sets the Lord at nought.
The wicked man boasts, “He will not avenge it”;
“There is no God,” sums up his thoughts. (Ps 10:3-4)
Evil breeds contempt and arrogance. It does everything for the glorification of self and does not give credence to anything good. In doing so, it deludes itself into thinking that it is untouchable.
We all know that nothing could be further from the truth.
Evil is only temporary.
Sure, perhaps “temporary” has meant thousands of years thus far. However, one day, evil will be brought to an end when the Lord returns and brings His people to Himself. At that time, evil will see that the Lord will, indeed, avenge His people and prove without a shadow of a doubt that there is a God.
We might get down from time to time. We might get into a funk that makes us want to say that there is no God. We might complain that God is not there, that He does not listen, that He does not care.
Again, nothing could be further from the truth.
God is real.
God is there.
God is listening.
God does care.
Count on that as you go out into the world today.
