Be Rooted In The Lord

25 Feb

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose hope is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted beside the waters
that stretches out its roots to the stream:
It fears not the heat when it comes,
its leaves stay green;
In the year of drought it shows no distress,
but still bears fruit.  (Jer 17:7-8)

Life is not always easy.  However, if we trust in God, He will care for us.

We all know from our own experiences that trust is hard to come by.  We have often been “burned” by others whom we trusted.  Because of that, we find it harder and harder to place our trust in people.

If we cannot place our trust in people whom we can see, imagine how much more difficult it becomes to place our trust in someone we cannot see:  God.

Blessed are those who trust in the Lord.  There is a certain sense of peace and calm when one abandons oneself to God.  It may begin with a lot of anxiety or fear; however, once we give ourselves over completely to Him, we will achieve an inner peace.  That is because we can plumb the depths of God.

Life is not always easy.  Sometimes it is downright difficult.  It can be filled with doubt, fear, confusion, and anxiety.

It can also be filled with peace and joy.  If we but trust.

We are called to trust completely this day.

FAITH ACTION:  Make sure that, in all of our hopes, plans, and dreams this day, our trust is rooted firmly in the Lord and not in ourselves.
