Aha!

5 Jan

Rise up in splendor, Jerusalem! Your light has come,
the glory of the Lord shines upon you.  (Is 60:1)

“Aha!”

You know that moment.

The moment that the “light bulb” goes on in your head and everything becomes crystal clear.

That was the kind of moment that Helen Keller had with her teacher, Anne Sullivan.

Anne had been trying to sign different words to Helen but Helen was just not able to realize what was happening.

The “aha” moment came when Helen realized that the symbols being made in her hand stood for the water that was pouring on her hands.

After that moment, even though Helen Keller was still blind, she was finally able to “see” as her world opened up around her in the symbols that her teacher made in her hand for every new thing that Helen touched.

Today we celebrate the “aha” moment when God revealed Himself to us through the Magi’s visit to Jesus.

God speaks to us every day of our lives yet there are times that we are unable to recognize Him.  Pray God that we recognize what He is telling us today.

FAITH ACTION:  In reflective prayer today, try to discern what it is the Lord is trying to reveal to you.
