True Fulfillment

“Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life’s deepest joy: true fulfillment.”  – Tony Robbins

There is a huge difference between being selfish and being selfless.  It is a wide divide.  Miles wide.  If we are selfish people, we view everything through the lens of “ME”.  We do things for other people because it benefits us.  We say things to others if we get something out of it.  We join organizations that have a direct impact on ourselves.

If we are selfless people, we view everything through the lens of God.  We do things for people because we know that is what God would want us to do.  We say things to people to help them realize how special they are.  We join organizations so that we can have a direct impact upon the lives of others, making the world a better place for them.

Being selfless is exactly the way God wants us to live our lives.  The amazing thing about reaching out to others, providing for the needs of others, and helping others in all sorts of ways is that it benefits us as well.  It makes us fulfilled.

There is nothing like the feeling one gets knowing that someone else was helped and is in a better place in their life.  That feeling fuels our desire to do more and to be more for others.  It also, I believe, fuels the smile on God’s face when He looks at us lovingly, approving the good that we do.

FAITH ACTION:  Make sure to contribute to the good of another today whether it be materially, professionally, or personally.
