Watch Where You Walk

Paths have always interested me. Not just paths, but the creation of them. I like watching movies, as well, where someone is trying to track another person’s movement through dense foliage. The tracker looks for a slight impression in the earth here, a small broken twig there, and the like. I look through the same scene and do not see anything but dense material.
I have also seen movies where someone was lost in the woods and, after a lot of time wandering aimlessly, finds a discernible path that leads them to help. Paths are very important and, it seems, we all look for paths throughout our lives.
Have you ever considered the well-beaten path that you are taking, though? Your path might not only be well-beaten, it might be paved and lined with gold. However, is that path taking you in the direction you need to travel? That’s the most important question we need to ask ourselves throughout life.
Jesus indicated that the path that leads to the Kingdom is narrow and many people miss it. The path leading to destruction is wide and well-traveled. I don’t think we want to be on that path. We want to be on the narrow one that leads to the Kingdom.
In order to be on that path, we need to be like those professional trackers, looking for signs to make sure that we are going in the right direction.
FAITH ACTION: As the way to the Kingdom is narrow, ask God for the discernment that you need to travel the correct path today.
