All Or Nothing

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”
~ William W. Purkey

So many people “wait for it”, whatever the “it” is.  They wait for someone to tell them that they can begin.  They wait for someone to acknowledge their achievement.  They wait for someone to give them permission.  They wait . . . and wait . . . and wait.  Waiting is a frustrating enterprise.  Waiting gives people sour stomachs.  Waiting causes stress or anxiety.  Waiting is definitely not the way to go.

Jesus did not tell His people to wait.  He told His people to go.  Go out into the whole world and tell the Good News.  Go and announce the Kingdom.  Go and tell your family what has been done for you.  Jesus, with some stretch of the imagination and a liberal breaking of the rules of grammar, could be said to be not only a noun but also a verb because Jesus was always about doing.

Have you been busy with doing lately?  You can answer that question by considering the following:
How many people have you told about Jesus?
With how many people have you shared your faith?
How many people have you invited to accompany you to Mass?
How many hospitals, nursing homes, or hospice centers have you visited?
How many people have been comforted by your words and/or your presence?

You see, it really is all about doing.  Not only is it about doing; but, it is about doing with every bit of our energy, with every bit of our love, and with every bit of our being.  God gave us His very best, not His second best or the bottom of the heap.  God wants the same from us.  If we are going to be worthy of the name “Christian”, we have to give our all because, giving anything less, is the same as giving nothing.

FAITH ACTION:  Whatever you do for the Lord today, make sure that you are in it 100%.
