Not Just A Dream: A Reality

10 Aug

Man has a dream and that’s the start
He follows his dream with mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It’s a dream come true for you and me

So there’s a great big beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of everyday
There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away
~ Song from Disney’s Carousel of Progress

They say that values are caught, not taught.  That would fit right in there with Bishop Grutka’s favorite saying:  It’s not what you know, it’s what you show.  He was convinced that we taught people more by our actions than by our words.

We all have a dream.  It is a great big beautiful dream.  It is a dream of everlasting life, of no pain or suffering, of freedom from fear, of eternal peace.  This dream was made a reality for us in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We need to share that dream with others.  In doing so, we not only reinforce the dream in ourselves but we give others the opportunity to think about what awaits them if they but accept the Lord.

Be such an example for others this day that they catch the dream you nurture in your heart and take it into their own lives.

You can play a major role in someone’s great big beautiful tomorrow when your dream and theirs becomes not just a dream but the ultimate reality.

FAITH ACTION:  Faith is not only personal, it is communal.  Find someone to share your dream with today so that they may be inspired to accept the Lord as well.
