Then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them,
was taken up into heaven
and took his seat at the right hand of God.
But they went forth and preached everywhere,
while the Lord worked with them
and confirmed the word through accompanying signs. (Mk 16:19-20)
Today is the Feast of St. Mark, one of the Apostles and Evangelists.
As an Apostle, he was sent “to all the world to tell the Good News.” As an Evangelist, he wrote the Good News down so that others would be able to read and learn about the Lord.
We, with all our varied gifts and talents, are called to spread the Good News as well.
Some of us may do it by writing things down. Others, by speaking. Still others, by example.
All are just as valid.
It does not matter how we get the message out. It just matters that we do get the message out.
FAITH ACTION: How are you going to proclaim the Good News — and to whom — today?
