He Preserves Us From Harm

7 Mar

I will extol you, O Lord, for you drew me clear
and did not let my enemies rejoice over me.
O Lord, you brought me up from the nether world;
you preserved me from among those going down into the pit.  (Ps 30:2,4)

One thing is certain.

We are in a battle here on earth.

A battle that involves good and evil.

The more we attempt to be good and do good, the more opposition we will run into since the devil wants to do all that he can to bring us down.

There are, sadly, many people who side with darkness and sin rather than with the light and Jesus.

When we follow Jesus, we will make enemies.  We will find people who want to trip us up.  We will see people who rejoice in our falls.

It is a tough job to fight sin and darkness; yet, fight it, we must.

The beautiful thing about it is that we do not have to do it alone.

God is always there for us.

Jesus promises to be at out side.

The Holy Spirit gives us the grace that we need.

All we need to do is ask and be open to God’s help.

If we are, we shall not fall.  We shall not be led astray.  We shall prevail!

FAITH ACTION:  Say a prayer of thanksgiving today for all that God has done for you and for all the harm from which He has preserved you.
