Celebrate God’s Presence Today

3 Mar

Oh, that today you would hear his voice:
“Harden not your hearts as at Meribah,
as in the day of Massah in the desert,
Where your fathers tempted me;
they tested me though they had seen my works.”  (Ps 95:8-9)

You woke up this morning, didn’t you?  I am assuming that you did, or else you would not be reading this!  Did you say, “Thank you, Lord, for another day of life?!”

No?  Why not?  After all, He is the one who blessed you with it.

You are driving down the road and something catches your attention with enough time for you to react and brake your car or swerve to the side.  Did you thank the Lord for making you hyper-alert in order to make the changes necessary to avoid an accident and save yourself from injury?

No?  Was it all you?

You are walking outside and, when you look up, you are treated to one of the most magnificent sunrises or sunsets that you have ever seen in your entire life.  With awe in your voice, did you thank the Lord for that marvelous sight?

No?  Didn’t think it was that important?

The fact of the matter is that God is in our lives in a very real way and on a daily basis.  The other fact of the matter — and a sad fact at that — is that many people do not accord God His due.  We do not think to thank God for all the glories that we experience on a daily basis.

If we do not do that, we will be less prone to ask God for His aid when our lives are not going as well.

He is there for us, you know.  He is waiting patiently to be invited in to our lives.  He is the one who gave us life.  Why do we keep Him excluded from ours?

FAITH ACTION:  The Lord manifests Himself to us daily yet there are many times we deny His presence.  Look for Him, acknowledge  Him, and celebrate His presence today.
