Walk Rightly
We instruct you, brothers and sisters,
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
to shun any brother
who walks in a disorderly way
and not according to the tradition they received from us. (2 Thes 3:6)
One of the most important things a believer can do is to set a good example. Our lives need to be consistent with our speech. If we say that we are believers and if we claim to live as followers of the Lord, our example should be that of Christ.
We should not be rude or arrogant, unforgiving or unloving, deceitful or licentious.

We should be kind and compassionate, loving and merciful, honest and temperate.
Not only should we practice as we preach, Paul reminds us in today’s reading that we also should stay away from those who do not live as faithful Christians.
It might sound bad or wrong, at first read, to think that we should shun those not living properly; however, as people who understand human nature, we realize that “hanging out” with the wrong crowd is the quickest way to our own downfall.
We could easily deceive ourselves by saying that we can be around “bad” people so that we can make them better. However, the truth is that they will drag us down.
We must set an example for others to follow. However, we must protect ourselves as well.
