Let Me Not Fail

30 Oct

Look, answer me, O Lord, my God!
Give light to my eyes that I may not sleep in death
lest my enemy say, “I have overcome him”;
lest my foes rejoice at my downfall.  (Ps 13:4-5)

Failure.

That is something that we all fear.

The last thing we want to do is fail and have everybody notice.

And let’s make no bones about it.  Everyone does notice!

There are enemies that we all have in life.  That is a sad reality.

We all have a common enemy as well.

The devil.

That is a fear that we all have, that the devil will be able to rejoice and say, “I have overcome him!”

The Lord can and will deliver us from all of our foes — earthly as well as other-worldly — if we ask Him for His aid.

Let us do just that today.  Let us ask God to free us from our enemies and keep us on the path that leads to Him.

FAITH ACTION:  In quiet prayer this day, ask the Lord to set you free from all that shackles you.

On a personal note, may I ask for your prayers as I celebrate my fifty-seventh birthday today?
