We’ve Seen. What’s Next?

5 Oct

Turning to the disciples in private he said,
“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
For I say to you,
many prophets and kings desired to see what you see,
but did not see it,
and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.”  (Lk 10:23-24)

But, what do we do with that?  That is the big question.

We have all been blessed to see and hear great things in our lives done for us or for others.

When those things have happened, we were on “cloud nine”.  However, after a while, we get back to our day-to-day lives and begin to forget those great and wonderful things.

That is one of the sad realities of our human nature:  the number of times that we “forget” God.

But, blessed are we for having been able to see and hear God’s great deeds.

What we need to do is make sure that we proclaim those deeds to others, for, indeed, there have been many people waiting to see what we have seen and hear what we have heard.

Let us not deprive them of the opportunity to know what we know: God’s love for us.
