We Are Impelled

15 Jun

The love of Christ impels us,
once we have come to the conviction that one died for all;
therefore, all have died.
He indeed died for all,
so that those who live might no longer live for themselves
but for him who for their sake died and was raised.  (2 Cor 5:14-15)

If one is impelled, one really has no choice.  One must do what he or she is impelled to do.

St. Paul tells us that the love of Christ impels us to live no longer for ourselves but for the Lord.

Why?

Because Jesus destroyed sin and death by His death and resurrection.

His love impels us to proclaim His saving love.

We are impelled to proclaim that by word and by deed.  Our entire lives must be remade by the God who has made us all anew.

Will you let the Lord direct your ways today?

FAITH ACTION:  Pray for the grace to do what the Lord asks of you.
