Blessed Are You!

4 Dec

“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
For I say to you,
many prophets and kings desired to see what you see,
but did not see it,
and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.”  (Lk 10:23-24)

I we are willing to admit it, we would have to say that we have, indeed, witnessed a lot of good works by our God.  We have seen how God has intervened on behalf of family members or friends.  We have experienced God first-hand in our own lives.  We have come to a realization that God cares for us deeply.  We have all had moments in our lives when that has become very clear.

What do we do with those moments?

Jesus tells his disciples that they are blessed because many people had longed to see Him and His works but they did not have the chance.  His disciples were eyewitnesses of what He was doing.

Because they were eyewitnesses, Jesus commissioned them to go into the world to tell the Good News.

We are blessed to see what we see and hear what we hear and experience the goodness of God.  And, since we have done so, we are called to be His witnesses in our world.

FAITH ACTION:  One of the ways to prepare the way of the Lord is to tell about His love.  Share a story with someone today of how God intervened in your life or the life of a loved one.
